JMMDS’s public landscapes include parks and arboretums, museums, cemeteries, academic and corporate campuses, and children’s gardens. Principal Julie Moir Messervy designed the Toronto Music Garden, with cellist Yo-Yo Ma, a three-acre public park on Toronto’s waterfront based on Bach’s “First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello.” Clients include the City of Greenville, SC; Franklin Park Conservatory; Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University; Massachusetts Horticulture Society; and Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. JMMDS designers work collaboratively with planners, architects, artists, and engineers. Messervy often lectures to help raise funds for development projects and offers visioning workshops to organizations and stakeholders.
