Butterfly Garden at Weezie's Garden, Mass Hort.

Weezie’s Garden’s Butterfly Bench looks out at the Butterfly Garden that is about to erupt in blooms.

On Thursday, June 2nd, Mass Hort put on a big soiree—The Twilight Garden Party—for 300 of its long-time supporters at Wellesley’s Elm Bank campus. Each of the twelve display gardens sparkled with beautiful plantings and immaculate maintenance.

I got there a bit early to walk through Weezie’s Garden—the children’s garden that JMMDS designed over fifteen years ago—and was absolutely thrilled by how beautiful it looked! Fun new play areas had been added, needed paths installed, water features renovated and extended, and the whole full of colorful plantings. It has never looked better! Everyone should make sure to visit The Gardens at Elm Bank and be proud of all that has been accomplished there.

Director of Horticulture and Education John Forti and I share a laugh at the event. It’s wonderful to know that Weezie’s Garden is in such competent and creative hands.
